Rotary District 7190-Gift of Life Program
OUR MISSION:
For many of our worlds' children, a healthy start in life is impossible and is jeopardized by the lack of medical services. Therefore, the mission of Rotary District 7190's Gift of Life Program is to foster and promote the cure, or alleviation, of life-threatening and life-altering conditions among the needy children of the world.
OUR GOALS:
District 7190's Gift of Life Program goals are to provide life-saving and life-altering surgeries to as many of the worlds' needy children as possible. The program also collects, assembles, and ships critically needed medical supplies to underdeveloped countries.
OUR HISTORY:
Rotary District 7190 became involved in the Gift of Life Program in 1985. Since that time our program has flourished and has been able to provide critical surgical procedures for children from a number of countries including the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Russia, Antigua, Honduras, Guatemala, Bosnia and Kosovo. Shipments of medical supplies have been provided to Peru, Mexico and Belize.
OUR NEEDS:
While each year greater fund raising efforts by the District and by individual Rotary Clubs provide much needed financial support, however the amount of money raised severely limits the number of children we can treat and the number of medical supply shipments we can provide.
